LOGO CONTEST WINNER
The logo submitted by Ashique Vadakkuveettil has been chosen as the official logo of FOSS4G-Asia 2026. Congratulations!! and thanks to all who submitted their logos. We now have a brand-new Logo!!
About the Logo: The FOSS4G-Asia 2026 logo beautifully blends technology, community, and cultural heritage with a strong connection to Nashik, India, the host city. The design features group of hexagons representing grapes, symbolizing Nashik’s identity as the Wine Capital of India. At the top, a ribbon forms the stem, subtly resembling the FOSS movement’s ribbon, signifying the collaborative and open nature of geospatial innovation. On both sides of the stem, location pin icons are integrated as leaves, highlighting the geospatial theme and symbolizing connectivity, mapping, and learning.
The conference committee was looking for a new visual identity, design an eye-catching logo from students, practitioners, researchers, and anyone who good at designing a creative, innovative and professional logo. Winners will get a Prize, free registration for the conference, certificate of appreciation, and recognition on the website by displaying the name of the winner.
ABOUT THE LOGO
- Logo must reflect the theme of the conference
- Must be unique and not be similar to other conference logos anywhere in the world
- Should not include any copyrighted materials .
- Should include themes for FOSS4G-Asia 2026
- Be easily rendered on t-shirts with as few colours as possible
- Be delivered in PNG file format and a scalable format (SVG or PDF).
- In addition to the polychromatic version in RGB colours, it must have a monochrome version in black and white. (SVG or PDF).
- Should not promote commercial/ proprietary brands
THE DESIGN
The design should communicate the following parameters as far as possible
- The potential of Free and OpenSource geospatial software
- A sense of community, openness, learning and education
- Intelligence & trustworthiness
- Cultural Heritage
- Geographical diversity of the country
- Identity of the location
- Reflect the specific element in the country context
- Made available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)
